Apple Maps Look Around expanding beyond U.S. city centers, reaching more countries

Apple is expanding its Look Around feature to more areas, including new countries like Egypt, China, and Turkey, and extending coverage in existing locations. Look Around, Apple’s version of Google Street View, already covers many cities worldwide, but it doesn’t reach as far as Google’s. This upcoming expansion could help close that gap.

According to RhinozzCode on X and reported by MacRumors, some vector tiles in the Apple Maps web beta have revealed the future coverage areas for Look Around. In the U.S., this will include expanding beyond major cities to cover both major and some minor highways, extending to rural areas as well.

A list of countries is set to receive Look Around for the first time, including Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, China, Belarus, Turkey, Bulgaria, Mexico, and Slovakia.

The last big expansion of Look Around added six central European countries in mid-2023, following a similar update in northern Europe two weeks earlier.
