Apple releases the ninth developer beta for visionOS 2

Apple has released the ninth developer beta for visionOS 2 earlier than usual. Normally, Apple releases several beta updates at the same time, but this time, they made the visionOS 2 beta available ahead of the others.

The ninth build of visionOS 2 was made available to developer beta testers on Tuesday. The previous release, which included the eighth betas of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, was on August 28.

This beta release is a bit earlier than expected since Apple usually waits at least a week between beta updates, but this one came just six days after the last release.

Apple’s ninth developer beta for visionOS 2 is build number 22N5319a, replacing the previous build, 22N5314a.

The new visionOS 2 update includes changes to the user interface, new environments, keyboard edge detection, better Mac mirroring, updates to Photos, and other improvements.

AppleInsider and Apple advise users not to install test operating systems or beta software on important or primary devices, as there’s a small risk of issues that could lead to data loss. Testers should use secondary or non-essential devices and make sure they have backups of their important data.
