Apple has released the third public betas of iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 to beta testers today, a week after the second public betas were issued. Earlier this week, the third betas were also made available to developers.
Public beta testers can access the beta by opening the Settings app, navigating to the Software Update section, tapping “Beta Updates,” and enabling the iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 Public Beta. Registration on Apple’s beta testing website is required.
All the new features announced for iOS 17 have already been implemented, so it is unclear what iOS 17.6 will include. So far, no new features have been discovered in the developer betas.
As Apple shifts its focus to iOS 18, iOS 17.6 will likely contain bug fixes and other under-the-hood improvements rather than new features.
Apple has also released the second public betas of the upcoming watchOS 10.6 and tvOS 17.6 updates.
