Apple to Open First Store in Malaysia on June 22

Apple will open its first retail store in Malaysia on June 22, expanding its physical retail presence in Southeast Asia. The new store will be located at The Exchange TRX mall in Kuala Lumpur.

The store features a unique, tiered white pyramid design and will be the sixth Apple Store in Southeast Asia, joining three in Singapore and two in Thailand.

To celebrate the opening, Apple has launched a webpage for the store and released wallpapers for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, featuring the Apple logo and the Malay word “Jom,” meaning “let’s go” or “come on.”

Although Apple does not manufacture iPhones in Malaysia, it does produce some Mac models there. Establishing a retail store in Malaysia is part of Apple’s strategy to expand its presence in key Asian markets, where it faces strong competition from local tech companies.

Apple The Exchange TRX will officially open its doors at 10 a.m. local time on June 22.
