Apple's paid AI features are unlikely to be available until 2027 at the earliest

Apple hasn’t mentioned any fees or subscriptions for the upcoming Apple Intelligence features, but that could change as early as 2027. The first set of these features, arriving with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, will be introduced this spring, with some AI capabilities rolling out later in 2024 and early 2025.

According to Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, Apple might eventually charge for more advanced features, but this probably won’t happen before 2027. Initially, the features will include tools like intelligent summarization in Mail and Messages, an improved Siri, image generators, and more.

Similar to other Apple services like Apple TV+ or iCloud+, the more advanced features of Apple Intelligence will probably come with a price. These features might be designed for specific areas or for large-scale services using Private Cloud Compute technology.

The subscription or paid features of Apple Intelligence will likely be targeted at corporate users, the education sector, or other specialized users. Some experts think that this subscription could cost around $20 per month.
