Developers will get an early look at Apple’s new iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay screen sharing next week, according to an Apple spokesperson.

Earlier reports suggested that Apple might not release Apple Intelligence and other major OS changes in the EU due to Digital Markets Act interoperability mandates. However, Apple will let developers test two new features in an upcoming developer beta, as learned by The Verge.

Announced at WWDC 2024, iPhone Mirroring allows Mac users to remotely control their iPhones, providing full access and control through macOS Sequoia while the iPhone remains securely locked.

SharePlay Screen Sharing, available since iPadOS 17, will see enhancements in iPadOS 18. Users can now draw on their screen for visual guidance and request remote control of another’s iPad or iPhone, aiding those who assist less tech-savvy friends and family.
